Lily walked along the beautiful corridor, touched as always to be there as she read all the names that had done so much for the school. She had always been here with her father during her pre-Hogwarts days, when he had business with the headmaster and was used to roaming around the great castle. She reached a familiar spot, and her hand reached out to touch the familiar engraving as she felt a tear slide down her cheek.
Side by side are the names of the family she never had. She would have had them if it wasn't for the revolution that had killed countless innocent wizards and witches alike. She sat down facing the stone wall, reading the familiar engravings over and over again, somehow wishing they would disappear, that it would turn out that it never happened and that Lily had grown up to know these people. She read the name Tonks and Remus. They had left the world, but more importantly their only son, Teddy. He had lived with the Potters the last few years, and Lily had started to adore him and count on him as an older brother.
Lily loved and cared for him like he was truly one of her family, and she knew how bad he must have felt after he knew of his father's death. Her own father was an orphan, and he told her to be extra nice to Teddy. She looked at the plaque beside him and felt another pang of sadness. It said Fred Weasley, and she knew he would be her uncle if it wasn't for his death. The pain started to overwhelm, and she regretted ever coming.

Dominique was wondering the halls with no real destination and found her feet carrying her to the Corridor of Reflection. Normally she avoided the name encrested hall because of all the sorrow it signafied. Today she found it entriuging however, the names engraved so carefully, each of them a monument to the brave people that had banned together and secured her's and countless other's futures. Some names were larger than others, Professor Dumbledore, a man she had heard much about and seen countless wizarding cards of, was one of the larges and most worn names. Furthinging her distance into the room Dom noticed a young red head. Walking closer she realised that this wasn't a random person, but her cousin Lily with a look of sorrow on her face.
Dom cleared her throat once and then leaned down to lily's height. "What are you doing in the Corridor of Reflection on a day like this? You've got such a sad look on your face. It's really not something that most first years do... wandering into this hall that is." Dom glanced around waiting for an answer and thought, it's not really something most third years do either, so you really have no room to critisize. I wonder what would bring her down here though? I would think her brothers or some of her friends would have drug her outside today... The thought of school brought a gilty look to her face, since school had begun Dom really hadn't even talked to Lily, not to ask how things were going or if she was making friend, or even if she was home sick. Home sickness. That was one of the worst things to have, not that you could really get home sick when there was a member of the Weasley/Potter family around every turn, but it was still something she should have at least asked about.

"Hi Dom,"she said softly, not enthusiastic or energetic like her usual self. She smiled sadly. "I don't know, dad usually takes me here when I was a kid, I never really understood why it was so important," she said, her face as calm as the lake which could be seen through the large windows. Until now... she added silently."All those people died, but no one seems to care," she added, almost sounding confused. She smiled warmly at Dominique, as if she had just seen her for the first time. Shaking her head slightly as if coming out of a trance. "Does your dad still miss him?" she asked, motioning to the plaque proclaiming the name "Fred Weasley". She imagined being forgotten after her death, an gave an involuntary shiver.
She stood up to hug Dominique tightly. "I miss mum, no one ever seems to be around," she complained. Lily was used to a loud life during the holidays, with Potters and Weasleys bursting into their house at midnight if they wanted. She missed-however much she denies it-being teased by James and being read to by Al. Most of all, she missed being tucked into bed by her parents. Everyone seemed to be going separate ways when they reached Hogwarts, and she felt confused and abandoned.

Dom noted how depressed Lily seemed and a knot grew in her stomache. She tried to deny it, but the knot was guilt, guilt for being a bad cousin, and guilt for not paying any attention. After she had made a mental not to talk to James and the rest of the family about trying to make her feel more at home she replied, "My da thinks about him every day. I don't think there's a day gone by where he doesn't. I can't even imagine how bad it was, I'd be devistated if that happend to any of our family, especially Vickie. I used to get really sad when I walked past this room, but try and think of it like this. The hall is a dedication, it's to make us feel good about all those people who are hero's, they helped your Da stop Voldemort." That helps with the loss a little, but not much, it's all about tricking yourself into believing it wasn't really as horrible as it was.
Changing the subject to a lighter topic she stated, "I know that it's hard having all of us off doing our own thing at Hogwarts and it can get kind of sad without your mum and da, butyou can always come find one of us if you need to talk. Even if you can't, use one of the owls to send us a letter at the breakfast table." Wow, it really was a while ago that I was in her position, what did they all say to me? Did I ever feel like her? Dom decided to delve into Lily's life a bit and questioned, "So you must of had some fun and made some friends, how have things been going around here for you?"
