Name:
Scamander Residence (Lorcan Scamander)
Board Description:
The Scamander Residence captures the style of the Lovegood side of the family, very artsy and uncommon, and the style of the Scamander side (or how I picture it), simple with much foreign furniture and animal related trinkets.
Full Description:
Walking past the Scamander's "house," which would be the simplest name for it, makes you a little confused. It's another one of those Lovegood rook-like houses, except painted a light brown color. Flowers, mistletoe, gurdyroots, and many other various plants surround it. Behind the house runs a stream from the Scamander National Park, which is close by. The stream has a small stone bridge over it. The stream also contains many fish, along with the Gulping Plimpy, which Luna found to be real.
The first room you see when you walk through the glass french doors is a living room. The wall is painted an off-white color, which looks dabbed with light brown paint. The floor is made of Mahogany which creaks a lot, despite it's age. The furniture is a made of a slightly rugged looking yarn, with dark wood forming the arms and legs. There is two couches and one sofa facing the fire place. An Indian rug rests under a "coffee table," also made of dark wood. Two end tables rest on either side, made of the same wood. Two chairs sit next to the fireplace. The mantle of this fireplace holds many moving pictures of the two children, Lorcan and Lysander, with their parents. Above it is a swatch of the paint work that Luna recovered from the ruin of her home. It is pasted on an oversized canvas that adds just the right touch to the room. Several arched windows surround the room
If you climb up the stairs, you enter the kitchen, with a circular table in the center, which only seats four. The kitchen, despite the first floor's calmness, looks very wild. Luna did the painting in here, which is why the room looks like the outside is suddenly rushing in. Butterflies, lady bugs, flowers, bees, and trees make up the walls. The cabinets are a soft, light green with white, round knobs. If you can actually see the counter, which you usually can't, as it's mostly covered in various objects, it is a granite, which looks rather beat up, again, despite it's young age. The floor looks similar to the one in the living room.
The next floor is an office, which is easy to tell, since it is cluttered to pieces with old Quibbler magazines, papers that are probably years old, records of animals in Scamander National Park, letters from friends, and other various things. If someone was robbing their house for some sort of paper, it would probably take them hours to find. The wall is painted a vivid yellow with black and white checked floors. It doesn't really help the cluttered style of the room, but Luna liked it. In one of the corner areas, there's a black desk with a typewriter somewhere below all the papers. Much art is on the walls, including some abstract work from Muggles. Off of this floor, there is one bathroom, which was declared the kid's bathroom by Lorcan and Lysander.
The last three floors are all bedrooms, which I won't get into, considering I play only one character and the other does not exist yet. Luna and Rolf's looks quite like the rest of the house, minus the first floor. A little cluttered, very artsy, and quite beautiful. There is a balcony off of this bedroom, giving a great view of the park. Off of this bedroom, there's a bathroom, slightly bigger than the one down a few floors. There is a mild silencing charm on this floor so the kids don't constantly bother them, but just mild enough for their voices to get through if they need it.
Location: Off of Scamander National Park. They can see it, so I suppose it's not too far away.
((Sorry if it's a little too detailed, I like making houses.))
